| Manson On Lock Down After Attacks |

Two separate assaults in consecutive days at the Manson Youth Correctional Institution in Cheshire resulted in the facility being placed in lock down as internal investigations into the incidents continue. On March 16, two inmates reportedly attacked a guard and, the following day, another inmate allegedly punched a corrections officer. "We take all assaults seriously and, as a precautionary measure, the facility was placed in a lock down while an internal investigation of both incidents is being conducted," explained Department of Correction spokesman Andrius Banevicius. "As of (March 19) Manson is still in lock down." The first attack occurred around 6 p.m. on March 16. The two inmates allegedly attacked an officer and two other corrections officers were injured trying to break up the altercation. The two inmates, Jordan Anderson and Reginald Holley, both 18 and both originally from Middletown, were arrested by state police after the Department of Corrections called for assistance regarding a disturbance. According to the state police, both men are known gang members. All three officers were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Both inmates have since been transfered to another facility. Banevicius would not comment on whether the first officer was a target of a gang-related issue or if the attack was of a random nature, choosing not to elaborate further on the incident.
