A Lake County Jail inmate who accused a veteran correctional officer of beating him has been charged with felony disorderly conduct for the accusations. Patrick Anderson, 29, of Waukegan was taken to a jail nurse last week with injuries to his face. He first told authorities he hurt himself while exercising inside his cell, but the following day made the accusation that a correctional officer battered him. An investigation was started. Anderson was released from custody Monday after posting 10 percent of his $50,000 bond. He was being held on felony retail theft and felony possession of a controlled substance (heroin) charges filed by Waukegan police. After a week long investigation, Lake County Sheriff's Office investigators determined Anderson's allegation of abuse was false. A warrant was obtained for his arrest Thursday with $100,000 bond.
