| Murder Suspect Faces S. Africa Court |

Ventersdorp, South Africa (CNN) -- Two suspects in the killing of a white supremacist leader in South Africa were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday amid tight security in a case that has stoked racial tensions. Outside court a few blacks watched nervously, one of them telling CNN they are scared. "These people are hurting, their leader has been killed, and we don't know what they will do to us," the bystander said. South African police said they were prepared for any violence as the suspects were set to appear in court in the killing of Eugene Terreblanche. "We have deployed additional members to ensure everyone's safety," said Adele Myburgh, a police spokeswoman. Barbed wire surrounded the courthouse in Ventersdorp to prevent chanting crowds from swarming the building. Riot police stood between the wire and about 200 of Terreblanche's followers -- some of who were wearing army uniform with swastika-like emblem on caps and shirts. Read More. |
