| Suspects Family Blames Parole |

Family members say there are two sides to Donald Martin. The intelligent, quick-witted, compassionate and charismatic young man his mother knew when he wasn't using drugs and the angry, self-centered young man who was oblivious to the world around him and would do anything to get his next fix of heroin or crack. "When he's using his humanity is gone," his mother Jenny Reiben said. "His humanity leaves him, to the point that he would sell his own grandmother for what he needed – his fix – or whatever." Martin, 20, and his 18-year-old fiancée were arrested Monday night after police conducted a daylong investigation at the North Main Street residence where Emily Wayman, 22, was found dead. No criminal charges have been filed yet and police have not released any information about the circumstances or cause of Wayman's death. Martin and his fiancée remain in custody at the Winnebago County Jail and are expected to be charged today for their roles in Wayman's death. Read More. |
