| Ex-Guard Faces Charges For Relations With Inmate |

SAEGERTOWN -- A Cambridge Township man faces trial on charges that he had a sexual relationship with a female inmate while working as a corrections officer at the State Correctional Institution at Cambridge Springs. William G. Gorton III, 30, of the 23000 block of Racop Road, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Monday on a third-degree felony charge of institutional sexual assault and a second-degree misdemeanor count of official oppression. Gorton waived the scheduled hearing during a brief appearance before Saegertown District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver Monday morning. He attended the hearing with his lawyer, Crawford County Assistant Public Defender M. Dan Mason. Crawford County Assistant District Attorney Christopher Mitchell represented the prosecution in court. Gorton, who was fired from his job at the prison, is free on $25,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to return to court for formal arraignment May 7. Read More. |

In my opinion, Gorton is just down right sick in the head. I dont understand why on earth one would have a relationship, nor let alone a sexual relationship with an inmate. For one, you should not even comes close to forming intimate bonds with prisoners, and second, there must be something wrong with him not to be able to form a relationship outside the prison. Did he not think he would get caught??? I hope he gets the sentence he deserves.
