| SC Murder Trial Testimony Begins |

Testimony got under way Tuesday at the Sumter County Courthouse before 3rd Judicial Circuit Judge W. Jeffrey Young in the trial of two men charged in connection with the shooting death of Angela Anderson who was killed in Wedgefield almost two years ago. Sherald Kotocka Anderson, 33; and Samuel "Sammie" Lee Montgomery, 35, are both facing charges of murder and assault with intent to kill. Sherald Anderson additionally faces a charge of unlawful possession of a pistol. Assistant Solicitor Jason Corbett told jurors in his opening statement that he would try to "make sense of the senseless" and try to explain "meanness or evil," which often has no explanation and leads to "tragic, tragic results."
