PA Woman Promoted Within DOC

Mardi Vincent, former SCI-Laurel Highlands superintendent, has again been promoted within the state Department of Corrections.

Vincent was named deputy secretary for specialized programs and facilities on April 2. She had been acting deputy secretary since the beginning of March.

“I am obviously thrilled,” Vincent said. “I have four facilities that report directly to me.”

Among those: Pittsburgh, Chester, Waymart and — of course — Laurel Highlands.

Vincent left her role at the Somerset County prison early last year after being appointed director of population management for the entire Pennsylvania corrections system. She had been superintendent at Laurel Highlands since 2005.
