A visit Tuesday from some of the state's big guns seemed to ease the minds of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors enough to OK going forward with the jail complex project. Representatives from the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Corrections Standards Authority and Department of Finance were on hand to answer questions about the requirements for Assembly Bill 900 funding. The county received approval for $26 million in AB900 monies that is to be added to the $30 million from Measure J to build the detention facility and sheriff's administration building. “Today we are here to provide you with an update and to respond to the board's questions that were raised in February and to provide you with additional information,” said Jeanne Boyce, county administrative officer.
