So it was strange to see prison inmates tending to tender impatiens and tomato starts at the Monroe Correctional Complex on Monday. "At night, I'm wondering what's going to be growing this weekend, what's bloomed," said Lorne Rooth, 45, who was convicted of assault and violated a court order, and now spends his days in the greenhouse.
