| Better Jail Data System Needed |

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office is expected to request approval for computer software at the jail to replace an “antiquated” paper record system at Tuesday’s commission meeting. The upgrade to Sleuth, a data system used by local law enforcement agencies, is expected to cost $17,649, according to the meeting agenda. “It is a software upgrade and this upgrade is a designated jail management system which also integrates with the currently used law enforcement records management system,” Undersheriff Wesley Waller said. He said when the office assumed emergency management of the detention center earlier this year, staff noticed the hard copy system was creating issues with tracking inmates.
