| Non-Profit Cookbook Helps Inmates |

What do Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Caddo Parish Commissioner Lindora Baker have in common? They are all featured in "First Recipes," a cookbook compiled and printed by the One Church One Offender of Louisiana program in Shreveport. "First Recipes" is a collection of favorite recipes and pictures of "first ladies" from all areas, including churches, politics, higher education establishments and the entertainment industry. Proceeds from cookbook sales go toward funding the One Church One Offender program created to assist ex-offenders with reintegration into society. "Hardly anyone wants to give them a chance unless they have somebody that is credible and will speak for them and help them, and that's what I like about the program because that's what they do," Baker said. "They are a credible organization that actually speaks for those people and really diligently tries to help them get back to a normal life with a job and a home and other amenities that they need to just normally live."
