Amanda Township (Ohio) fire and medical personnel entered the grounds of the Southeastern Correctional Institution last Wednesday. An inmate had to be treated after an accident and fire at the prison. Rick Chuvalas, spokesman for the state prison, said an inmate was injured while working on an electrical panel. Chuvalas said the prisoner, Tom Literal, who is serving six years for aggravated robbery and burglary, was helping an employee. "A small electrical fire started in the panel box. The fire caused a temporary power outage and the fire was put out with an extinguisher," Chuvalas said. Literal was injured in fighting the power outage and fire. "He was given first aid here and then taken to another facility to be treated," Chuvalas said. "We don't know his condition or status. No one else was hurt in the incident."
