| Guard Fired Over Drugs Found |

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -- The troubled Osceola County jail has more problems. A man who was hired to help increase security at the jail found himself behind bars on drug charges. Corrections officer Terrel McGowan, 30, was pulled over Sunday night on the Turnpike for speeding. When deputies searched his car, they found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana in the back seat and arrested him. McGowan has been fired. He was released on bond just a short time after he was supposed to start his shift. WFTV talked to the interim chief Monday afternoon. He said this guy had no criminal history, but the jail is now reviewing how it screens new employees. Read More. |
