| Health and Saftey Concerns Found at Jail |

WILLIAMSON COUNTY -- An inspection by the Illinois Department of Corrections finds several problems at the Williamson County Jail. The report is only two pages, but it finds several safety and health violations. It also states the jail, which currently houses about 100 inmates, was built for only 35. Many of the concerns are not new. News 3 has toured the jail several times, showing the current conditions of the building itself. Inspectors say the floor in the jail's all-purpose room is buckling and needs to be looked at by a professional contractor. There is also a lack of space throughout the jail. That has led to a crowded kitchen, with only a three to four day supply of food. Sensitive inmate information is also stacked in boxes in the hallways. That poses two concerns.
