BARTOW | An inmate walked away from a state Department of Corrections work-release camp late Wednesday and went on a brief crime spree before being recaptured, according to the Bartow Police Department. A Bartow officer caught Samson J. Williams, 23, about 4:15 a.m. today after Williams alleged snatched cash from two Circle K convenience stores, according to a Bartow P.D. release. Williams left the camp about 9 p.m. and at 9:12 p.m. rode a bicycle to a Circle K at 1193 E. Main St., where he reached across the counter and took cash from the register, the release said.
