| Ex-Football Player To Serve 120 Days |

One of three Southwest Baptist University football players charged in a vicious 2006 beating outside a former Springfield nightclub has been sentenced to 120 days of shock time in the Greene County Jail. Rony Saintil, 27, pleaded guilty Jan. 25 to second-degree assault for his part in the attack on Joshua B. Mincks outside the now-defunct Cowboys 2000. Originally charged with first-degree assault, Saintil pleaded guilty to the lesser charge as part of an agreement with the Greene County Prosecutor's Office. A seven-year term in state prison was suspended as part of the deal, which left it to Circuit Judge Tom Mountjoy to decide whether Saintil would serve his shock time in the Missouri Department of Corrections or county jail.
