| Boyfriend Killer Gets Probation |

A Tulsa woman will not serve prison time for fatally stabbing her boyfriend, based upon a sentence imposed Thursday. A Tulsa County judge handed Melissa Livingston a 10-year suspended sentence in the killing of Robert Everett Matthews. The mother and sister of the slain man did not want Livingston sent to prison, and they expressed those feelings to District Judge Tom Gillert, attorneys said. Livingston, 46, pleaded guilty in March to first-degree manslaughter in accordance with a plea deal in which the charge was reduced from first-degree murder. In the plea agreement, a prosecutor recommended a 10-year term, with Gillert to decide whether Livingston was sentenced to prison, probation, or a combination of those two options. Read More. |
