DOVER -- The former Cape Henlopen High School football coach accused of raping a teenage girl was hospitalized Thursday after jumping from a three-story building in downtown Dover.

"Apparently, he jumped from an office building," said Lt. Daniel McKeown of the Dover Police Department. "Our department is handling the case as an attempted suicide."

Ott was arrested April 9 by state police and faces 13 charges related to allegations he sexually assaulted a now 16-year-old girl over a five-year time span.

Dover police said they discovered Ott, 39, of Lewes on Thursday morning in the parking lot of an office building on Lockerman Street in Dover after he had reportedly jumped from a fire escape.
