Detroit -- Kwame Kilpatrick was supposed to have testified at an ongoing whistleblower lawsuit trial brought by one of his police bodyguards, but the former mayor refused last week to accept a subpoena. Wayne Circuit Court jurors who have heard testimony about Detroit Police Officer Tony Davis' claims that he was harassed and punished for threatening to tell about illegal activities he saw while guarding Kilpatrick and his family until 2003, were told today that Kilpatrick brushed a process server aside on April 20 while exiting another Wayne County courtroom. Kilpatrick had just been told he was guilty of probation violations and was warned by a judge to have his affairs in order because he faces jail when he returns May 25 for sentencing. Read More. |
