Inmates in a prison work scheme have been powder-coating hydroponic lampshades for a company implicated in last week's cannabis raids. As a result of inquiries by 3 News, the Corrections Department has now suspended its work contract with the gardening wholesaler. It may seem a dubious form of employment training, but inmates at Auckland's Paremoremo Prison have been playing a role in the production of hydroponic lamps, which are commonly used to grow cannabis.
