| Arsonist Escapee Still On The Loose |

PICKENS — Even as law enforcement officials continue their search for escaped arsonist Christopher Patrick Daniels, the new pastor of the Belton church Daniels burned says the church is undergoing a revival. “I tell people now that they don't see smoke, but we're on fire again,” said the Rev. Richard Busha, pastor of Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Daniels, 41, had been pastor of the church, but in 2009 was convicted of several crimes related to a March 8, 2009, fire at the church. On Tuesday, Daniels, a trustee in the custody of the Pickens County Detention Center, escaped while working at the Pickens County landfill, according to the state Department of Corrections. Busha, who said he never met Daniels, said that at the time of the fire that the church had about a dozen active members. Now, he said, the church usually has around 75 members at every service.
