GOUVERNEUR — A former Gouverneur Correctional Facility employee pleaded guilty Thursday in Town Court before Judge John W. Riordan to second-degree promoting prison contraband, a misdemeanor, court officials said. Laura Douglass, 40, of 966 County Route 35, Potsdam, was sentenced to pay $305 in fines and received no probation or jail time. She was charged with bringing a disposable camera into the state prison. Ms. Douglass resigned from her job at the prison after being charged in 2008 for having sex with an inmate. Read More. |
