BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — A 46-year-old man convicted of his 10th DUI has been sentenced in Gallatin County to five years with the state Department of Corrections. Matthew L. Gram appeared yesterday (Monday) before District Judge John Brown, who told him the sentence "is not consistent with an offender like you." Because Gram had previously undergone alcohol-abuse treatment while in custody, state statute only allows up to a five-year sentence. Authorities say Gram had been drinking before he was involved in a car crash in 2009. It was unclear if he or another person was driving, but Gram pleaded no contest in March to the DUI charge in exchange for the state dropping a persistent felony offender charge. Read More. |
