| Visitation Stations Increase In New Jail |

The Mower County Board of Commissioners approved a jail change order Tuesday that will help jail staff operate the new facility more smoothly, but it won't cost the taxpayers any additional money. The board approved a request to add two additional visitation stations in the general population pod of the new jail. The two stations will cost about $15,734, but they will be paid for with money from the inmate canteen fund, a fund used entirely for inmate programing and services. "They're not going to expand the amount of hours a week they have to visit," said Mower County coordinator Craig Oscarson. "All they're doing is better managing the jail population." Read More. |
