| Woman Gets 4 Years For Adoption Scam |

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman accused of deceiving numerous couples, including a La Porte couple, into thinking she was pregnant and willing to let them adopt her baby was sentenced Tuesday. Commissioner Stanley Kroh sentenced Amber Jackson, 28, to four years in the Department of Corrections, two years in community corrections, and one year of probation, said Marion County Bailiff Molly Commons. She will serve the sentences consecutively, Commons said. Jackson was arrested at her home Feb. 19 and charged with three counts of forgery, four counts of theft and three counts of adoption deception. The theft and forgery counts are felonies. The three counts of adoption deception are misdemeanors. She pleaded guilty to all counts Tuesday, Commons said. Read More. |
