| Tower Guards Debated at Meeting |

State representative Sheryl Delozier will host a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Highland Elementary School, 1325 Carlisle Pike, Camp Hill, about the decision to replace tower guards at the Camp Hill Prison with electronic monitoring equipment. Representatives of the state Department of Corrections will be on hand to explain their decision. The department announced that it would remove guards from watchtowers during certain times of the day beginning this month and rely on security cameras, roving patrols and other measures to secure the perimeter. The move, which state officials say would save $4.8 million annually in overtime, was criticized by the Pennsylvania State Corrections Officers Association. Read More. |
