The Wakulla Correctional Institution will begin working with the Heartworm Assistance Rehabilitation Training Program, a program that works to increase the number of heartworm positive dogs treated and adopted, creating a new partnership with the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center and the Department of Corrections The first group of dogs will arrive at WCI today and will stay for three months of treatment recovery.
