A 21-year-old Keene man ran from a city probation office while in handcuffs Wednesday, police said. Steven F. Newcombe bolted from the probation office on Mechanic Street at about 7 p.m. and made it to nearby Union Street before Keene police arrested him, Keene police Lt. Darryl W. Madden said. Newcombe was charged with escape, a Class B felony that carries a maximum prison sentence of seven years. Read More. |
