The man accused of holding up a Connecticut bank was arrested in a Gainesville motel room on Thursday, authorities said. Robert P. Pernini, 36, was arrested by the U.S. Marshal Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and Gainesville police on a bank robbery warrant issued in Connecticut. Gainesville Police Detective Courtnay Roberts said Pernini was wanted for a robbery that occurred Monday in Connecticut. Investigators determined Pernini used some of the cash he got during the heist to pay for a 1993 Saturn, then used the car to drive to Florida, authorities said. Read More. |
