SANTA CRUZ -- A teenage gang member accused of shooting a rival on a Live Oak street more than two years ago pleaded guilty Thursday to charges stemming from the deadly confrontation and agreed to a 58-year state prison sentence. Oscar Jaquez of Live Oak was 16 when he was arrested and charged with shooting Servando Silonsochilt Jr., 27, three times with a .38-caliber revolver on 17th Avenue near Harper Street around dusk on Jan. 29, 2008. Silonsochilt, a parolee with gang ties, was riding a bicycle south on 17th Avenue when Jaquez approached him and the two exchanged words. Jaquez then pulled the fully-loaded revolver from the waistband of his pants and emptied the weapon. Silonsochilt was fatally wounded. He stumbled away and flagged down a passing sport utility vehicle. The woman driving it took Silonsochilt up the road, but pulled over in a parking lot because was so badly wounded. Read More. |

He has blue eyes. Cold like steel. His legs are wide. Like tree trunks. And he has a shock of red hair, red, like the fires of hell. His antics were known from town to town as he was a droll card and often known as a droll farceur. Hamilton Lindley with his madcap pantaloon is a zany adventurer and a cavorter with a motley troupe of buffoons.
