Two Clare County men accused of burning a 6-year-old boy with a blowtorch have pleaded no contest to attempted assault with a dangerous weapon. Glen and Gerald Hall, who were accused of burning Gerald’s son’s buttocks in April 2009, are scheduled to be sentenced by Clare County Circuit Judge Roy Mienk; a sentencing was set for May 24 but was removed from the docket and no date has been reset, according to circuit court records. In exchange for the plea, counts of child abuse and torture against the two men were dropped by Gladwin County Prosecutor Aaron Miller and Assistant Prosecutor Norm Gage. Read More. |
