| Threatening Deputy Gets Jail Time |

PLATTSMOUTH – An Alvo man who threatened a Cass County deputy with a sharp knife in early August received a prison sentence Tuesday in Cass County District Court. Andrew Q. Stratton, 22, was sentenced to serve 20 to 30 months in the Nebraska Department of Corrections for the Class IV felony. He must pay all court costs and will receive credit for 291 days already served in Cass County Jail. He will be eligible for parole in 10 months. A Cass County deputy arrived at a house on Alvo Road in rural Alvo on Aug. 1 after Stratton reported that his father had stolen his pistol. Stratton’s father told the deputy that his son had been sleeping with a loaded pistol in his hand. He said he took the gun from his son and locked it in a cabinet for safety reasons. Read More. |
