New Cook County corrections officer Melissa Ciukaj didn't have to look very far for inspiration while the 36-year-old was going through 16 demanding weeks of training. Her husband, James Ciukaj Jr., 38, is a 12-year-veteran of the sheriff's department and a training instructor with the Cook County Sheriff's Training Institute.
