St. Charles, IL — A 25-year-old Aurora woman has been indicted for her role in a May 2009 crash on Route 47 in which a St. Charles couple was killed and others were injured. Alia Bernand, 25, of the 1500 block of West Galena Boulevard, Aurora, was indicted on May 28 by a Kane County grand jury on two counts of reckless homicide and one count of driving under the influence. The crash killed Wade Thomas, 44, and his wife Denise Thomas, 45, of St. Charles. According to the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, Bernard surrendered Wednesday morning at the Kane County Sheriff's Office, posted $5,000 bond and was released. Read More. |
