OCALA – A Department of Corrections officer who punched a man in the face three times was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with simple battery. According to officials, around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, a sheriff’s deputy went to a Northeast Ocala address due to an altercation. Jennifer Cornelius told the official she and her boyfriend were arguing and he was attempting to leave with their 3-year-old son.
