MARTINSVILLE - Police in Southside are searching for an apparent serial bad check writer. Martinsville Police say Albert Lamont Lawson is wanted on a warrant of felony bad check writing, after investigators say Lawson wrote a check for more than $1,400 to a Martinsville business, and the check did not clear. Officers say Lawson is also being investigated for other bad checks written at businesses in the Martinsville and Henry County area. Danville Police say Lawson is wanted there on seven charges of writing bad checks, and one charge of failing to return rental property. Read More. |
