A Marshfield man found guilty of killing his girlfriend a year ago will be sentenced today on a felony murder charge. Eric Mayer, 29, avoided a trial earlier this month after pleading no contest to the charge in connection with the March 14, 2009, death of Cynthia Tyler. Mayer was arrested hours after police found Tyler unconscious following an argument at Mayer and Tyler’s former Stratford home. Mayer faces a maximum sentence of 15 years and 9 months in prison.
