Jurors sentenced convicted murderer and rapist James Biela to death by lethal injection for his crimes. Biela will likely see an automatic appeal. In the meantime, 2006 was the last time a person was executed by the state of Nevada. It was Daryl Mack, who raped and killed Betty Jane May in her Reno home in 1988.
