Just like most greeting card recipients, an East St. Louis mother and son were hoping the two cards police said they took out of a Highland man's mailbox had checks in them. But they were disappointed. "There wasn't anything monetary in there," said Tim Lewis, the owner of the mailbox who spotted the two putting the flag down on his mailbox and driving away. So instead of a financial windfall, Marquan Johnson, 25, and Felicia F. Johnson, 42, were charged with stealing mail. The pair pleaded guilty on Tuesday in federal court in East St. Louis.
