MANCHESTER – A 48-year-old Nashua man died shortly after he was about to be incarcerated at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections, according to county officials. The man, whose identity is not being released until his next of kin are notified, was arrested by sheriff deputies and a probation/parole agent Tuesday at a Palm Street residence in Nashua for failing to appear in court. He had previously been indicted for assaulting a police officer, county officials said. The arrest was made without any problems, and the man was cooperative at the time of his arrest and during the drive to the Manchester, authorities said. But while he was waiting to enter the sally port of the jail, officials said the man had some kind of medical incident. First aid was administered by the jail nurse and two deputies, then the man was taken to Elliot Hospital by ambulance, where he later died. Read More. |
