Beating Leads To Charges For Parolee

A 42-year-old prison parolee with a history of parole violations is expected to be the second person charged in the beating last month near Bluebell Park.

The man, a Lansing resident, is being held at a Jackson prison and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in 54A District Court. The Lansing State Journal typically does not identify people charged with crimes until after an arraignment.

The first person charged, 35-year-old Kimberly Hood of Lansing, appeared in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing but it was postponed despite her attorney's objections.
