| Officer's Killer Will Face Charges Tomorrow |

The prison inmate alleged to have assaulted Springhill prison officer Jason Palmer will face a manslaughter charge when he reappears in court tomorrow. Palmer, 33, died in Auckland's Middlemore Hospital after allegedly being punched by an inmate in the north Waikato prison a month ago. Palmer was punched shortly after he and two other prison guards opened the inmate's cell. He fell back and hit his head on the floor as the other two guards restrained the prisoner. Read More. |
