| Corrections Officer To Be Sentenced |

Sentencing is set July 14 for a former Calipatria State Prison correctional officer who pleaded no contest to drug-related charges as part of a plea agreement. Charles Keith Rowe initially faced eight felony counts but withdrew his not guilty plea on two of them during a court hearing June 9. Rowe, of Brawley, who worked at the state prison for 17 years, pleaded no contest to the transportation and sale of a controlled substance and smuggling contraband into jail. The other six offenses Rowe was charged with were dismissed, according to court records. Some of those charges included taking heroin and methamphetamine into the prison for a street gang.
