Osceola County's interim corrections chief Monday gave the County Commission a brief update on jail-security improvements that was thin on details and big on praise of the jail's staff. Kim Bogart, hired as a consultant to fix problems at the troubled jail, opened his remarks by saying he needed to be brief so he would not compromise jail safety. However, state Rep. Darren Soto, D-Orlando, released the findings last week of an April jail inspection by the Florida Department of Corrections that showed more than 40 security flaws. Read More. |
