| Woman Charged With Infant's Death |

A woman suspected in a March incident that resulted in the June 7 death of her baby has been charged with first-degree murder, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. A Pitt County grand jury on Monday issued a murder indictment against Sandy Kay Etheridge in the death of her 5-month-old son, Dakota Chase Etheridge. She was served with the murder charge on Tuesday, her 28th birthday, according to a Pitt County Sheriff’s Office news release.
