Exchanges between supervisors about a for-profit jail unit that opened in 2008 turned heated Tuesday night during the Sauk County Board's monthly meeting. "You're out of order and in due time I'll have you removed," Sauk County Board Chairman Marty Krueger said to supervisor Tom Kriegl during a report from law enforcement on the financial performance of the jail's Unit A. The report came this month prior to a vote on whether to keep or close the extra unit that is now scheduled for July. Supervisors were permitted to ask questions about the 20-page report e-mailed to them that morning by sheriff's department staff. But there was to be no debate until the July. Read More. |
