CASPER, Wyo. (AP) ― A judge has denied the state of Wyoming's request to dismiss a former inmate's lawsuit that claims a correctional officer falsely told other inmates he was a snitch. U.S. District Judge William Downes on Tuesday refused to dismiss Steven Ervin's lawsuit against former officer Justin Snell. Ervin claims Snell told other inmates in 2008 that Ervin was an informer. ALCU lawyer Stephen L. Pevar represents Ervin. Pevar says Downes' ruling shows the reach of the U.S. Constitution extends inside prison walls. Read More. |
