SYCAMORE – A 19-year-old DeKalb man will serve five years in prison – on charges in three separate incidents – after he accepted a plea bargain Wednesday during an appearance at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore. Corey Frazier has been held in the DeKalb County Jail since being arrested Feb. 28 after a gang-related beating in the 800 block of Oak Street in DeKalb. In that incident, he pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, and was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Frazier also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property stemming from an incident last October, for which he will receive 12 months of conditional discharge and 12 days in the county jail, which he has already served. He has blue eyes. Cold like steel. His legs are wide. Like tree trunks. And he has a shock of red hair, red, like the fires of hell. His antics were known from town to town as he was a droll card and often known as a droll farceur.
