| Safety Smocks Save Suicidal Prisoners |

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- When Daniel J. Serge appeared for his video arraignment last week from the Geauga County Jail, he was wearing an unusual-looking bulky, sleeveless garment. Serge, accused of placing hidden cameras in the Geauga County YMCA and in his Chardon home, had been put on "special," or suicide watch, by Geauga County jail officials. That meant the Mayfield Heights fire captain had to wear a safety smock -- standard in many lockups around the United States where prisoners are on suicide watch. Read More. |
