An ex-convict with ties to Naperville who was freed from prison last year under a controversial "early release" program could be headed back to jail. Or not. Convicted burglar Darrell G. Bracey pleaded guilty June 10 to a Class 3 felony charge of aggravated battery in a public place stemming from an incident last winter in Naperville. DuPage County Circuit Court Judge Daniel P. Guerin sentenced him that day to 2 1/2 years in prison, according to court records. But the 22-year-old Bracey subsequently had a change of heart, and on Thursday filed a motion to withdraw his plea and proceed to trial, said Paul Darrah, spokesman for State's Attorney Joe Birkett.
